Student Teacher

This week Room 5 welcomes Kataraina Leef. Whaea Kata is just starting out on her journey to become a teacher. I am sure that Whaea Kata will learn lots in her time with such an amazing little crew. You are already so patient and helpful for me.

Student Led Conferences

The children are really looking forward to sharing their conference with you. A big thanks to the 11 families that have already booked. Well done!

Reading Logs

Reading Logs are due on Wednesday and the reading draw is this Friday. I would really like to get all 24 reading logs into the draw. Lots of lost reading logs this time - don't panic. Any piece of paper will do. It needs your name, class number, titles of books read and an adult signature. So far only 4 reading logs have been handed in. Come on Room 5 - we can do it!

Raffle Books

Raffle books were sent out at the end of term 2 (one per family). These are also due on Wednesday, please.

We had an absolute blast with Tim last week. We have had our time slot changed to Thursdays - don't forget your PE gear.

Internet Safety

This is a really huge issue for parents. Tessa Gray is speaking at JPC on Wednesday night. Tessa is easy to listen to and is full of great ideas and great advice. Click on the link for more information.

Go 4 It

On Thursday, we went to the hall to work with Tim. 

We played some fabulous games that help us practice our balance.

Go4It

This is a programme developed and run by Sport Bay of Plenty. It focuses on essential skills like balance and co-ordination. Please, send PE gear every Tuesday so that our kids can fully participate in the programme. Thanks.

Reading Logs

Hopefully our children have been doing lots of reading over the holidays. The prizes this time are: UE Boom, 2 walkie talkies and lots of other little prizes. If children read 7 books they will also get a pizza voucher from Hell’s Pizza. The top class of children participating will also get a pizza lunch, not from Hell Pizzas. The draw will take place in the second week of Term 3. Come on Room 5 - lets get ALL reading logs back this time.

Plastic Free July

To help you on your plastic free journey, some lovely big kids will be selling these fabulous wee bags.  They can be used for all sorts of things and are available in lots of really cool designs.  They are only $5.  Check out their stall by the Mary garden.
